Fuelling the future

CECOD is the Committee of European Manufacturers of
Petroleum Measuring and Distributing Equipment, a non-profit
association, providing facilities for its members to share technical
information related to fuel measuring and dispensing
technologies and processes.

  Technologies

Software is a key focus of CECOD, and we are working to ensure that regulations and guidance do not restrict the introduction of new technologies, whether it be mobile device payment, connected cars, Cloud based point of sale, or internet connected dispensers; but whilst ensuring that measurement and transaction data remains secure.

  Processes

CECOD understand in detail the regulatory processes required to get products onto the European market including product and factory certification requirements, plus manufacturer, distributer and importer responsibilities under the EU New Legislative Framework.

Working closely with the European Union

CECOD members work collaboratively with European Member States and Authorities to support its deep commitment to promote the unification of European Legal Metrology, Safety and Environmental legislation together with its subsequent enforcement.

Driving the industry forward with legislation

The following is the wide range of European regulations and directives which are likely to apply to many products manufactured by CECOD members. The technical committee have significant expertise in these subjects, and whilst the committee cannot provide any design advice to members, we do share our understanding of European and national interpretation, and are actively involved in influencing and writing standards/guides in the fields of measuring instruments, explosion safety, machinery safety, and vapour recovery.
